It's quite true. It is one of the best, if not best secrets of Palm Springs! Friendly family owned shopping center restaurant. The chicken cups are tasty and just enough for one! VERY ADDICTING & FRESH!

An order-at-the-counter place located in a fairly large strip mall, I was in town and needed some good healthy eats. I got the Yogi Combo and ordered the chicken/shrimp combo with brown rice. It comes as a stir fry with mixed veggies, which I didn't expect, but didn't mind as well. Loved my food. It's something that I would make at home if I had more time. All the food is made in the kitchen which is in plain view. It looked very well kept and clean back there. This place is small and casual, but perfect for a quick meal or a to-go order. There's a super cute older gentleman with his wife that run this place. I'll definitely be back for a quick bite next time I'm in town!

This place is one of our favorites in palm springs. We typically get the chicken bowl; servings are generous and everything is fresh. Love the owners, very sweet and accommodating. It may take a few minutes for them to prepare the food, but this is because everything is fresh and not pre-prepared. I look forward to my yogi fix every time time we are out!

Was staying at the Saguaro hotel across the street and needed a quick bite to eat with my girlfriend before heading off to explore Palm Springs. Great friendly service. Quick meal. Tasty teriyaki. Simple food. Good price.

We're winter visitors to Palm Springs and we get take out from here on a regular basis. We've only ever had the chicken bowl, just because we like it so much. You can get it with brown rice, which is a great option, and it feeds two of us for just under $10! Everything else looks good, we just haven't tried it all. It's not really a sit down place, although there's a counter and an outside table. The ingredients all appear to be fresh. Run by very friendly people

Visiting from San Diego. We walked in and stared at the menu for a moment before the owner stepped in to answer questions, even offered a sample bite of chicken. After deciphering what we wanted and how much, our dinner was quickly put together. While we sat outside enjoying our meals, the wife checked in on us to see if we liked it or needed anything else. Overall loved the off the beaten path stop for dinner with great customer service.

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl is huge! Good enough to fill up tow people or even make 3 meals out of it. Add brown rice and I'm in love. When I crave Teriyaki this is the only place to go!

This is a place I have to visit each time I am in Palm Springs. They have fantastic chicken bowls. The couple that runs/owns the place is super nice. They have been there every time I have been there and are just the most attentive and nice couple you have ever met. The food is great, good for you and they are fast to get you in and out. Give it a try if your looking for some great grilled chicken, or just a great rice bowl.

Love this place! Not only is the food great with great prices, the couple that owns this place are the nicest, sweetest couple! I love how I can drive down and be in and out quickly and eat a healthy meal! I always see paramedics and firefighters here every time I come and they say they stop by frequently for the convenience and healthy meal. It's a small gem in this desert. Very unique and hard to find such great service and great food without a long wait.

We were in town & were hungry for a good lunch after hiking all morning. One family member is a vegetarian, so we always have to take that into consideration...The vegetarian got the veggie stir fry and it was really good (yes, I grabbed a bite). Two others got the teriyaki burgers and said they were great. My turkey burger was outstanding - super moist and flavorful. The only thing it needed was more tomato, and when I asked I was cheerfully given several slices. It took a while to get our food but was worth the wait, and we didn't mind waiting, since everything was being prepared fresh. While we were there several people who had called ahead came and picked up food, so if you are in a hurry, that's the way to go. The young lady working the counter and the owners were all very personable and friendly.

I stopped by for a quick healthy lunch after a round of golf and was not disappointed! The owners are very sweet and very welcoming. The chicken saute was tasty and generously portioned. I'll definitely be back when Im in the area..highly recommend!

Good food, and the service was awesome! Just wish the chicken cup would have had a little bit more flavor to it.

Good tasting, good quality food. Their teriyaki bowl with brown rice is sooo good; and big enough to share. Also, the kosher hot dog is really yummy. Nice, friendly and clean.

This is small family owned business that has been around for years. They finally changed their location to the smoketree shopping center, which was a good move. The restaurant is small and absolutely immaculate... We shared the combo plate which include a skewer of beef and a skewer of chicken. Both were really great quality. It comes with brown or white rice and mixed veggies with their special teriyaki sauce drizzled all over it. Be patient. It takes some time, but one shouldn't complain when their food is being barbecued/cooked fresh to order. It's definitely worth the wait. Try it out-- They are the nicest people!

  • Josh H.

Easily the best choice for teriyaki! Cheap, delicious and very very friendly portions! The teriyaki bowl can easily serve 2 people. The chicken sandwich is stuff with a bunch of chicken and is absolutely delicious. Definitely a new fav in Palm Springs.

I ate lunch here today. A salmon skewer meal with brown rice, veggies, and a water. The food, while nothing to write home about, wasn't terrible. If you like a nice ambiance, or even just a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your lunch in, this place is not for you. It's a tiny building, so the dinning room is almost like a classroom where all the tables are extremely close together and directly in front of the open kitchen. I do like the open kitchen concept, but only in a larger restaurant, where you can walk by and take a look, not in a place like this where it's like a front row seat to Hell's Kitchen. The little foreign lady cooking the food is a tyrant. She was yelling the entire time I was there. It was incredibly unpleasant. At one point the young lady working the register forgot to write down a part of someone's order (gosh, could it be due to the cook yelling in her ear the entire time?). When the mistake was discovered, the cook went into annihilation mode on the girl. I felt so bad for her. For the entire remainder of my meal the cook was tearing into her and scowling. When the girl would try to apologize the cook would look past her or talk over her. There is a right way and a wrong way to handle mistakes and this woman just left all the guests in the restaurant staring at the floor or glancing at each other with sympathetic looks for the young lady working the register. Imagine, had it been handled correctly, one patron would have had to wait 5 more minutes. Instead all the patrons were made to feel uncomfortable. I can't imagine spending another dollar at an establishment that allows for such unprofessional behavior.

Had the chicken saute spicy and the cook asked me how spicy I wanted it and made it just right. The staff were very friendly and polite. I would visit more often but I was just visiting Palm Springs for the weekend. Highly recommend.

Chicken bowl, brown rice, extra veggies, and say yes to the sauce. Perfect. It's the only thing I've tried but my wife loves the steak sandwich, and my step son got the chili cheese dog once. The thing was huge. Like 2 meals worth of huge. It looked good. I really like this place. The husband wife team is really super sweet.

I've driven by this place numerous times. I didn't see it, however. It was only by chance that I saw the display in the window from the street, that made me stop. The place is super tiny. There's a small chair and a few chairs, along with a counter that faces out to the parking lot. There was one guy cooking and cashiering. The food is made fresh. The menu doesn't have too many items, most of them variations on a theme. I ordered a hot dog, a chicken teriyaki bowl and a Philly cheese steak sandwich. While I waited for my food to be prepared, I waited and watched. Several people came in. It was then that I realized that the place also served as a location to pay your bills. In the space of 10 minutes, about 8 people came in to pay one bill or another. (I'm glad I don't have to go in and do that somewhere!) I took the food to Jeff's for a late lunch. The chicken teriyaki had good veggies. The brown rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken and teriyaki sauce were fine, but not very interesting. It is a huge meal, so it will fill you up. The cheese steak was delicious, but not authentic. There was almost a sauce making the bread soggy. It had mushrooms in it and you could definitely taste the cheese, but the mystery goo was a bit shocking. It had a good flavor, however. The hot dog was split and cooked on the griddle. It got a little of that crustiness that I love in a hot dog. I had the guy put everything on it. I didn't realize that included mayonnaise, but it didn't ruin the hot dog. The shredded lettuce made it interesting. Rather than use a hot dog bun, he used a crusty roll (the same kind as the cheese steak). It made all the difference. A measly hot dog was elevated to a meal. Nice for a quick lunch, but not much more than that.

We affirm everything that's been said in the 4&5 star reviews. Teriyaki Yogi does strip mall food right. They keep it simple, clean and fresh. They make their own Teriyaki sauce that is key to every dish. All the food was cooked well with fresh ingredients. The owners/operators where helpful, kind and grateful for our business. Most dishes are under $10, kids meals around $6.

  • Rick M.

Very friendly folk. Cooked when you order.

  • Tucker G.

First of all i will never eat at this disgusting establishment! The one time i came in i was in line waiting to order and noticed the guy(pretty sure it was the owner) was cutting chicken and would wipe his nasty runny nose with the back of his hand and resume cutting. I saw him do this 3 times before walking out. Disgusting! Makes me sick to think someone ate that chicken! Could have been you!

  • David A.

We were at the True Value and were hungry and wandered into this little place. We got the chili dogs and THEY WERE FANTASTIC! The hot dog was seared and has this smoky flavor and the chili was homemade. And yes, the owners are SO nice! Can't wait to go back and try the philly cheesesteak!

This is my favorite take-out restaurant in the desert. In spite of the recent upgrade (they changed locations, and the new front is much nicer than the old one), it is not a place you visit to dine-in, though there are a couple of tables available. The chicken bowl has at least two chicken breasts (all white meat), chopped and served over sautéed vegetables and your choice of brown or white rice. The teriyaki sauce is fantastic, and they always have squeeze bottles of teriyaki sauce and sriracha on the counter, so you can help yourself (they even have little plastic containers). The chicken bowl is good for several meals, and this stuff is fantastic cold. While it's a bit pricey, I always get at least three lunches out of a chicken bowl, and have recently switched to the chicken cup (only one chicken breast, I believe). I still get two meals out of it. I have been visiting Teriyaki Yogi for over ten years, and I cannot visit the desert without stopping by at least once. It's perfect for trips when I'm staying in a hotel room with a refrigerator but no microwave, because it is great cold. The only criticism I have is that I can never seem to remember that they are closed on Sundays!

I'm sure the very impressive yelp filter will do its job. But any who, visited this place today and the salmon teriyaki skewers were delish!

  • Mike W.

The best healthy, quick and delicious food in the desert... even if "that guy" that was cooking was wiping his nose.. at least here you can see EVERYTHING they do with the food... no wondering what is going on it the kitchen with your food. They moved closer to me recently which allows for me to visit more often. I usually get the food sans any of the sauce just for health reasons, lots of sugars in those delicious sauces... haha.. and just for those who may be to intelligent to understand... read some of the reviews.. this place is designed for you to get your food "TO GO' quickly.. there aren't tables and chairs because they really don't have the room nor want you to sit down and make yourself comfortable for hours while others are trying to get served... haha.. hey, it is what it is.. and this place is the best...

This place is great! I come at least once a week. My personal favorite is the Yogi Combo. Food is great and the owners are really nice. And I love the fact that you have the option between white and brown rice. Owners are really nice, place is clean, and the prices are great. What more can you ask for?

We are just passing by and we took a menu to go. Nice lady inside and said take one. We returned an hour later to buy some chicken with rice. We're glad we bought only one dish because it was plenty enough for two. We loved it!!!! We will return on our next vacation trip to Palm Springs!

My Fiance and I just recently rediscovered this little hidden place in Palm Springs. We get the Chicken Sauté half brown, half white rice. The food is quick and super fresh and tasty. I plan on getting a Teriyaki Burger next time. Their Teriyaki Sauce is the business!

  • Cele B.

Let me just start with saying that I have not tried everything on the menu here but I always get the chicken (teriyaki) bowl and it's amazing. Today my boyfriend got the beef sauté bowl and I was really content that it came out just as good as I expected it too. The owners are very sweet individuals who always remember us when we walk in. The place is a little small but not too small and idk if that makes sense lol. There's tables inside and outside and a bar table facing outside. Even my little picky eaters enjoy this place very much! I recommend this place to anyone and everyone in the area whether local or just visiting. I hope nothing but the best for this place! It's truly a hidden gem in the Palm Springs area.

There burger patties are really thick. I ordered the double thinking it'll be comparable to in n out, and it's not I recommend coming here!!! Every person outside that ordered, besides me was a regular who'd say, "See ya next week." Amazing... Food: taste wise--4 stars. Atmosphere: has a nice mom and pop feel. No bathroom. Food took a while but it was prepared when we ordered it. Bottom line? It's a good eatery worth visiting.

    (4)
  • Jaimee A.

I ordered the shrimp sauté with white rice. Not impressed because I expected a lot from the 4 stars it currently has. The rice was a little dry and the shrimp wasn't anything special. Overall just a disappointment

The chicken bowl was delicious! They have white rice and brown rice! I recommend coming here if you're into teriyaki bowls!

This husband/wife team has created the perfect, healthy chicken & steak bowls, salads, and sandwiches in the Palm Springs area.. You can even get brown rice (only 50 cents additional) Open till 8pm, awesome! Walking distance to the Saguaro (right across the street) In the Ralph's (Smoketree) shopping center.. Highly Recommend!

Great fresh made to order food, love the chicken and salmon bowls also there salads are awesome too. The flavor in the meat is excellent and love that they have choices of rice brown and white of course brown is my favorite. Everything there is delicious have not had a bad meal there at all. The owners are always there and so pleasant very nice people and they keep everything very clean up front in the seating areas. Their Prices are very affordable for what you get in portion. Will always be a fan of Yogi's Highly Recommend

Gavin and I were frolicking around Palm Springs when I was starting to get sick from having to do nothing. I am a person that loves adhering to an agenda, a routine, a ritual (work, gym) so I came here after stopping by Raley's to pickup dinner to-go so that I can get back to the hotel to pack because I was anxious to get home. Once I walked in, a welcoming vibe just came over me. The gentleman at the register, the owner is soft spoken and friendly. I looked at the menu and knew what I wanted right away. I got us a chicken cup ($6 something) which technically is a smaller portion than the bowl but this could easily feed 2 adults. I asked for little brown rice, extra lettuce, and no sauce. Though I later regret opting for zero sauce but I need to cut calories whenever I can. - the lettuce was fresh - the chicken was juicy and tender - w/o the sauce, the dish is dry and bland Don't make the same mistake I made. Get the sauce!!

    (4)
  • Connie V.

Excellent, filling, healthy, tasty and reasonably priced. Salmon was grilled with fresh dill, chicken breast was moist with just the correct amount of sauce. I hate brown rice but loved it here! Good job!

    (5)
  • Serena S.

This place was very clean and neat and the staff was very pleasant. However the food was not tasty and lacked flavor in their chicken bowls. They need a little more flavor and they would be perfect.

    (3)
  • Ben K.

Delicious and fresh! The nice couple that runs the place make delicious food and while it's a bit of a wait, its totally worth it. The food is fresh and hot. The rice is sticky and the veggies are crunchy. The beef saute I had was amazing, with the meat being very flavorful. It's located near a grocery store so come here to eat first before running your errands.

We shared chicken and steak bowls while staying at the Saguaro. The chicken is the way to go - freshly grilled, moist and flavorful. Complemented by just the right amount of vegetables and a nice, not overly sweet sauce. The steak was ok but pretty bland by comparison, and didn't taste like it was fresh off the grill. Go for the chicken.

If you want delicious healthy food ...this is the place for you. We were here for a week..on a budget..and this was definitely the best dinner we had all week. I could eat here every day, it's that good! We both had the chicken bowl..awesome!

Hi-ya! Pretty healthy as they mix in some veggies along with the rice and chicken. The chicken used is lean and they are actually pretty generous portions. We ordered several chicken bowels to go and they were nice enough to give us a lot of extra teriyaki sauce. Good place for lunch.

We tried Yogi for the first time today. There was 3 of us. We ordered the shrimp sautee, chicken sautee, and steak sautee. My favorite was the shrimp, followed by the steak, and lastly the chicken. Everything seems fresh and made to order. The owners were very sweet. It definitely hit the spot. We will definitely be coming back soon!

After 130 miles of driving and settling in our hotel, we found ourselves eating at this small and humble restaurant where the first thing you hear is "how are you?" as you enter the door. The price is reasonable and the meat and ingredients are fresh, something your first bite will prove. I ordered the salmon and it was amazing. It wasn't overcooked and the sauce that went with it was delicious, not too sweet and not too salty. If i ever passed by Palm Springs again, i would definitely visit this wonderful restaurant.

This seems to be a mom and pop place ran by a husband and wife. My girlfriends and myself ordered the chicken cup. It was good enough for one person. My boyfriend and other male friends ordered the larger version. The chicken cup was flavorful and came with a good amount of chicken. Would definitely come back again if I were in the area.

I have driven by this place for years, a few days ago I finally stopped in. I ordered the chicken bowl. The food was freshly prepared and served fast. The bowl wasn't as big as others I have had but it was packed full of food. They are a bit on the pricy side, but worth it.

First time here ordered the chicken Philly sandwich, order of the chicken skewers with brown rice, and steak skewers as well. The place is small hidden in the Ralph's parking lot hosts about 7 to 8 tables seats that hold 2 people per Table. It's a family-owned mom and pop type of establishment able to see the kitchen not too smoky and it's clean. In case you're wondering they do not have a public restroom but there's plenty of stores next-door in shopping center. The food takes a while though I say about 15 minutes to receive your order, well worth it the service is really good and the food is really delicious (posted a pic ). Definitely try this spot out if your in the area.

  • Letty J.

Not worth $9 I paid for a chicken bowl! Chicken was dry, I asked for extra sauce and was given 2 small little cups that wasn't enough for a huge bowl. It was suppose to come with veggies, just wasn't enough. But white rice was what made the majority of the bowl. Globs of it! Customer service was not great. The cook looked upset and the man ringing up order didn't sell his food with enthusiasm, after I let him know I was a first timer eating here. Overall I would of rather jump on over to native foods .

Was down in Palm Springs over the July 4th weekend and Yelped every meal. This was the first place we went to because it was right across the street from our hotel. I'm not sure how this place got such high reviews when 1) everything is covered in the same sauce that tastes like it came out of some generic brand teriyaki sauce from Costco 2) service was disappointing - person who rang me up gave so much attitude when I asked about their shrimp 3) ended up paying $6 for 3 pieces of shrimp a la carte. On a burnt skewer. I'm all about supporting small, local restaurants, but unless this place improves at least their service, I wouldn't come back.

small teriyaki shop...simple outdoor strip mall seating and tables inside...sriracha and teriyaki squeeze bottles...some variety from normal teriyaki bowls...teriyaki skewers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, plates, etc...choice of brown rice for extra $fifty-cents..."cup" and "bowl" size choices...selecting a chicken bowl with brown rice and soda for lunch...lunch pricing of $ten.forty.six total...not as cheap as expected...few minutes wait and handed a hefty box....open to find a large meal...large mound of brown rice...chicken with light char...liquid teriyaki sauce poured over...side of vegetables with strong celery flavors..."bowl" is the size of a platter..."cup" is actually the size of a bowl....liquid teriyaki sauce was quite light and watery...reminded of watered down teriyaki marinade from a bottle...wet rice and chicken...was filling and was food...

This is a great small restaurant in the Smoketree shopping center, just west of the Ralph's grocery. I've known Nassar & his wife Eli for years, their genuine, good people, who have always taken good care of me when I come in. I almost always get the chicken bowl, with brown rice & extra broccoli, since it's so good, healthy, fresh, and they give you a lot of quality food for your money. The place is clean, they have an A rating for health, and are friendly & quick. I highly recommend Teriyaki Yogi, I usually get mine to go, (you can call your order in & it's ready when you arrive). Great food, with super fresh ingredients!! Great service! Super friendly owners! I'm particular about what I eat, and the lady taking the orders makes the ordering experience pleasant! Very accommodating for health conscious people! Thank you

Good, clean, healthy, simple chicken and steak bowls. I have been eating here for last 20 years. It has always been consistently good and they give generous portions for the price. Good healthy fuel.
